I use English at work every day. I need to read lots of English e-mails from our worldwide branches, write e-mails in English to reply their inquiries or questions, and speak English to them when meeting or receving calls from them.

In a word, my typical working day is "busy". Busy in using my poor English (not so poor but not good enough though..) to meet our branches' need.

I never thought of stuyding business English but do believe that I can gain more (than "learning Englsih") from your class.

1.)Because my job is connected to this subject. Also I'm interested in learing more related to this subject.

2.)Yes, I use English daily at work, mainly for corresponding with my overseas customers.

3.)The working time of my company starts at 8:00 AM. I usually arrive at office quite early so that I can have enough time for preparation. Then I open my mail box to view all the mails and arrange my working schedule. If I need to send spare parts to my customers, I normally put them in the first place of my to-do-list. Then the courier can pick up the parcels early. Next I go to the production line to check the status of customers' orders. After that, I return to the office and reply e-mails. This part occupies a lot of my time because I have to go back and forth between the office and the production line to discuss or confirm with my colleagues about the requests or queries from my customers. Well, that is how my working day goes.

I want to study Business English because I would like to know more about business management. I once assisted a friend of mine to open a tea house. I realized that the first problem we encountered was the employee management. I need not only patient but also be wi se at my actions and language used in front of those employees.I had to be a role model and be responsible of everything no matter how my mood was that day .Management is quite a challenge for me,and I am eager to learn everything from this field.
I am currently an Englsih teacher; therefore, I get to speak English with the students. My typical working day consists of preparation for the class I'm going to teach and customizing the materials according to the student's levels and needs. The classes are taught in a fun atmosphere. During the process, I also promote proper grammar usage but it's not done through strict memorization.
 

The biggest wish for business English is to make the English fluency while taking with the foreigners. I can not speak English well before I came to NTIT college. It makes a great progress for me to talk in English. I appreciated all teachers who teach me so much.
I use English at every day works. It is a routine jobs for me to use English. I am not an English teacher but a computer engineer.
I need to solve any questions in computer and read the English documents about hundred pages in a day. This is my major jobs.

1. Why did you want to study Business English?
=> I am so envy people who present their reports in English confidently and as fluently as the native-language people. They face the crowd without timidity, especially in front of their strict boss.I hope one day I could become one of them in the future.
That is the reason that I want to study Business English. I hope I don't need to flee from the office to the toilet when the foreigners come to visit our company.

2. Do you use English at work?
=> I do not use English at work. The company I work for is a traditional shoes manufactory, I don't need to use English at work.
But sometimes our machine provider brings their foreign clients to visit our shoes machine's real running process. At that moment, I realized that English is important.

3. What is your typical working day?
=> I have a eight-to-five job, but to leave the office on time is abnormal. I always be the last person to leave the office. Should I have to work on weekends? It depends on the work. When the work burden is heavy this week, we have to work on Saturday. Luckily, I am sure that we don't have to work on Sunday.

Finally, I hope I can learn Business English step by step. Using the proper materials, meeting the proper teachers,and also doing my best to learn this course. It is a great pleasure to be taught again by Miss P.J. Cheng. I found that she is the only teacher who asks students' expectation about the course, and she really does lots of preparation before class. She also always adjusts her teaching way to students. 1. Why did you want to study Businese English?
>>> Be honest, I’ve not thought about this question because the school didn’t provide us another choice. I am compelled to attend this class if I would like to graduate on time. However, I believe this class must be useful to me in job market undoubtedly. I’m just kind of worried about my lack of business terminologies and literacy because my major is not trade or finance-related. Nevertheless, I’m still looking forward to learning something during this class in happy circumstance.

>>> Because I am an electrical technician for repairing avionics equipped in fighters, I’ve to follow the instruction of the technical operation manual to fix the supplies. And, most manuals were written in English, that’s why I had better to have the English literacy. Besides, I occasionally email the foreign airplane manufacturer for technical problems in English. However, there is no opportunity to polish my speaking and listening skill of English.

3. What is your typical working day?
>>> Actually, I don’t have a fix routine although it’s a nine-to-five job. Because my job right now is simply specific, I don’t have to contact with vender or customers; I even rarely co-work with colleagues. The very fellows I must communicate with are the machines. That’s why I can arrange my schedule everyday on one condition that the avionics must be well-repaired before the deadline.

Now I work as a sales representative in a trading agency. Learning Business English is a way to help me to achieve my task at work.

Mostly, I reply e-mails, take care of cleints' needs, whenever they place an order or have some new ideas to develope a new item. Also, dealing with China factory is something I have to do! Besides, surfing net and chatting with friends on net are what I do to kill time during the low seasons in Europe and American.

1.Once I learned about commercial subjects, but I didn't know how to use English well in busienss. Although I didn't use it at work, I still think it is important. So I want to learn more knowldege about Business English,then I can use it correctly.

Yes, I use English at work. Therefore, English is not just language, but a communication and negotiation for business. The more knowhow of business English I learn, the easiler and better I can handle the job.

Being a purchaser, I have to select suited merchandises with reasonable price for the market. It's not only to communiate with foreigners by English, but to make a satisfactory bargain as well. Anyway, I suppose extending my English ability from academic English literature till practical Business English will be very helpful.

Learning Business English can help me a lot at work as I have been working in international trading for years. Usually, I communicate with customers by email because of time difference,which is convenient and avoid making misunderstood.

I work from 9 to 6 with one and half hour lunch break, and five days a week.

Q1: BUSINESS ENGLISH
What is that? I have no ides and why we need to take this class, either.
But when I was recovered from the wool-gathering after teacher asking me to answer the question(I’m so sorry about that), I’ve fund that’s pretty fun. Just for one word can be turned into other areas and formed different mean. How helpful it is for us, certainly I won’t miss it, in other world;I love in it.

Q2:I do not use English at work, but I use it with my kids and puppies. Which will make me fell more confidence by that way. Ha Ha!

Learning Business English is really an interesting course for me . I think Business English is one part of comunication which I enjoy a lot.

In the last company, I spoke English to my coworkers who are Filipino.I am in charge of teaching them about the work.
Now, I seldom use English in the company because most of our customers are Taiwanese.

In fact, I am interested in the way you teach us, this blog give us chances to show our opinions and we could see different opinions on the same matter. It is a good interaction between everyone. Thanks a lot.

For myself
I am usually not diligent.
To attend this class put me in a quandary.
But,it's not too late to learn Businese English!
I think it is practical,
though I don't use it at work.

1. Actually, I am not so interested in learning business. But, I am wondering
if Business English is much different with English that we're learning now.
How the companies use their paper work in English and how they their
politeness usage in writing.

2.When I am at work, I have to use English at all. I teach children the basic
English skills in speaking、writing、listening and reading. But recently,
I don't think that I can do it very well for the children. I am not so good at
speaking.

3.I am teaching English at a cram school now. When the students come into
our school, we and they have to communicate in simple English and a
little Chinese. If they really don’t know how to say or describe that words、
sentences or situations, we will give them advice directly. It’s quiet a hard
work for the kids. When I am at the cram school, I have to talk and talk in
basic English with kids.
 

After two weeks of the new semester, I found it is much more interesting to attend the class of Business English like most classmates did. It is a practical class that we can learn something more about the modern usages in the field of Business. Also, we can get the new vision of learning English, but not only focus on passing the tests.

For us who work for the governmental company, we don't use So much English at work. But it is necessary to be able to read the English instruction book and adapt the right process in time.

My typical working day? This is actually a quite steady job, we work on shift and come to the office at midnight, sometimes in the evening, and we have to know if all the machines in our departemnt keep running well or not. If yes, that will be a nice day to read a book in the office and if not, that can be an exhausted day with lots of phone calls and hard-work.

I misunderstood Business English as a specific commercial glossary teaching subject that was not I interested in. And now I like this course very much since it is quite useful in work place. More important that teacher makes this course appealing and I expect to learn something more in the year to come.

Basically, English is not essential at my work when all my colleagues are mandarin speakers. However, it is indispensable to read English instruments correctly in order to make the right order. This is a power station constructed by a international company, all the documents were written in English.

I am working in shifts which mean it’s not a regular 8 to 5 working hour. It is hard to describe a so called “typical day” in my office because every day is different due to variable power demand island-wide.

First, I am so glad to meet you again and to lean more about Business English from you. I am a teller of Bank of Taiwan, so I have to absord many knowledge about economic, finacial...anything about business field! I think it is not easy to work in a bank, I have to pass many licences which prove that I have ablities to serve our customers and give them proper suggestions. Well, I also notice that there are more and more foreign customers in our bank. So I have to use English to talk to them,in that time , I must use some business terms.
